Garrett's 90

Postby Garrett9 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 9:41 pm

A friend of mine and myself just redid my 90 gallon. I had a couple fish die and I stopped caring about my tank. Well after a long time of my tank looking bad I decided to drain it all down break it down pressure wash everything. I killed my whole tank and then I put it back together. I have a 55 gallon holding tank set up holding my fish. As of right now I have a gold headed sleeper gobie, yellow wrasse, melanarius wrasse 3 emerald crabs and a sally light foot crab. As for pictures I have a couple, but the sand has not settled all the way just yet, but as my tank goes through its cycle I will make sure to keep it updated.

I am going to add the fish I talked about in my first post, the two wrasses the gobbie and my crabs and snails. I will add a couple hermit crabs and some more snails, and for the fish I am going to put two clown fish and a blue hippo tang. My daughter loves finding Nemo. Dorie is her favorite. I am going to stay away from SPS. I want to mostly do LPS and zoa's and paly's. Maybe some softies, but not to much. I want easy coral with as much coral as I can get. I will also put in an anemone for the clowns. I tried to upload some more pics, but I cant figure it out. I will work on it a little more. Thanks for looking.

alright last post for the night. I still have not figured out how to load more than one picture on the same post, but oh well. My awesome wife snapped an amazing picture of my tank with all of the lights off so that you can see the moon lights. I took about a hundred pictures and couldnt get them to turn out well. Then I asked for some assistance from my wife and she nailed it.

Right on garrett looks nice. I really think you will like the arches for mounting corals on.
Currently trying to aquire a 300 gallon tank for free. So if anyone has a new 3oo gallon starfire to donate I would let you help me carry it in.

Thanks. I'm pretty excited about the archways. The way they are set up helps show the depth of the tank and gives the fish plenty of room and stuff to swim around. I also have plenty of room for all of my coral that I don't have. Haha. I should be able to do some pretty neat stuff with coral as I get it. That is of course after my tank cycles. Ive got 3 or 4 differant zoanthads and some purple tipped hammer that I got from Nate and a very small head of frogspawn and 4 head of green candy cane. So it'll take me a bit to get all of the color I want, but I'll get little by little.

Well last night I dud a 25% water change and now have about 25-30 snails 3 hermit crabs 3 emerald crabs a Sally light foot crab and a lawnmower blenny. I will watch my tank closely for the next four days and if everything goes well I will add a file fish then wait for another four days before I add the next fish which will be one of two clowns or a blue hippo tang.

Wow. I just watched a hermit crab take out one of my snails. I felt sorry for the poor snail, but I'm happy I got to witness that. I just hope I don't have to see that again in my tank.

Unfortunately, crabs will often ravage a snail in order to get the shell...or simply for a handy meal. I got tired of replacing my snails every 3-6 months, so I stopped keeping both hermits and snails at the same time.

I added a blue hippo tang. My daughter couldn't be any happier for her Dori. The only two fish I have in right now are the lawnmower blenny and now the blue hippo tang. On tuesday I will add my two wrasses. I am going to throw in some zoas tonight. I am excited to start getting some color in there. I also changed up my stock list.

Lawnmower Blenny already in

Great looking butterflies! Are they eating okay for you? If you don't mind me asking, where did you get three of them?

What type of light are you running in your setup? You mentioned picking up an anenome and a clam, both of which require larger amounts of light... something to think about when stocking up your tank.

I love the rockwork too, well done.

Thank you. My heniochus will not allow me to keep a clam anymore. They like to snack on them. For my lights I have 6 t5's with individual reflectors. I got all 3 heni's from Kim. He ordered them in for me. As for eating I will work on that today. Thanks for the comments and for looking.
