MASNA

Welcome to the FAQ's!

Here are some frequently asked questions about the club and its benefits.

What are the meetings all about and what is the format for the meetings?
At our meetings, you will find an informal gathering of warm and friendly people. The commonality of purpose and sameness of problems that we each confront in our hobby creates an open environment where we help each other resolve issues and learn from each other. The meetings generally involve a presentation by one of the club members on a specific topic followed by a question and answer session. Then we open up the discussion for general Q & A before we adjourn. After the general meeting we visit a different member's home each month to see spectacular tanks and equipment first hand.

When and where does the club meet?
Where: The basement classroom of the ICRMP Building located at 3100 Vista Ave; or at a members house by arrangement. For the most up to date information please email our listserve.
When: The regular club meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7PM. Due to the vacation season July and August meetings are held (depending upon interest) and are more low key informal social gatherings. The list serve will notify members on the dates, times and locations of July and August meetings. Additionally we have organizational committee meetings about every other month. These dates, times and location are posted via the list serve and any paid members are welcome to attend and participate in the informal organizational process.

How do you get in touch with the club?
Communication with the club can be achieved from the contact us page through e-mail contact with an appropriate officer. Simply decide who would best handle any question you have and drop us an email. We'll respond via email or call you on the phone. Your choice. Additionally you may register to receive and participate in the club's list serve. This offers a great venue for club communications.

What are some benefits to the club?
IMAS offers many benefits including a way to make our hobby more affordable. Yearly dues are $24.00 ($2 per month) about the cost of one coral frag. This allows you in the purchase of any frag donated to the club for a minimal cost that also goes right back into the club. Finally the knowledge you will gain from being a member through our own club members experience and through expert guest speakers makes it well worth the small investment. Some of the membership dues are used to bring in nationally known experts. The club also publishes a monthly newsletter except during the summer. Membership is required for participation in most of our events but if you see value in the club, please pay your yearly dues.

How do I become a member?
Simply bring your checkbook or cash to a club meeting and you will become a member. You also will be able to pay online through PayPal.
